Falcon Fire Ranch is the realization of a long-time dream and passion for fine horses. Being fortunate enough to be raised by an equestrian mother gave me great opportunities to learn and love horses. As a young adult, it is my goal to raise and train fine working horses with heart, functional conformation, versatility, beauty and longevity, with these traits being of great importance. Color is just the icing on the cake for us. We have learned what we can from the great masters of the past and will continue to grow and develop with each coming year, using their wisdom in our program decisions. Now that I am joining lives with a handsome man, Rene, we have great expectations for our future in the equine world. Thanks to a dear friend who recommended it to me, I highly recommend reading the book "This is the Spanish Horse" by Colonel Juan Llamas. Not only will you better understand the Spanish horse, but also overall conformation and functionality that pertains to every sound and able horse.

The Mexican Azteca
The Azteca is the national horse of Mexico, being developed there in the 1970's using a strategic combination of Andalusians/Lusitanos and American Quarter Horses. The Asociación Mexicana de Criadores de Caballos de Raza Azteca (AMCCRA) is the official holder of the Azteca studbook, in which Whuapango has obtained his birth certificate after thorough inspection by an official delegate. Being that the AMCCRA is the official registry of the Azteca horse, we strive to adhere to the characteristics set within their standard.
The American Quarter HorseTake Spanish Barbs, Arabians, Thoroughbreds, the Mustang, along with a few hundred years, and you will have the American Quarter Horse. Initially bred to run a quarter-mile faster than any other horse, the quarter horse proved to be a truly versatile breed. The old-style conformation, driven by speed and the growing cattle industry of the late 1800's, is that of a strong, fast. and well-muscled work horse. The modern Quarter horse can be seen in various different types; halter, stock, and racing/hunter. Here at Rancho Del Whuapango, we stick to the stocky, shorter working-horse build but make sure they also posses clean and elegant lines that can win in halter.
The Spanish AndalusianTo try and explain the perfection that this breed demonstrates is a daunting task. The blood of these horses is just as rich as their history. Cave drawings dating back to 5,000 BC found in Spain depict ancient ancestors and similar characteristics of the modern Spanish horse. The PRE (Pura Raza Espanol) was unified as a breed in the sixteenth century by Spanish King Felipe II, who formally established the breed standard. This horse was the chosen mount of kings due to its nobility and courage. Historically used for farm work and cattle, today it can be seen in many diciplines; from bull-fighiting, alta escuela (airs above ground) to doma vaquera (working-cow + dressage). These horses are timeless and the classical lines exhibit awe-inspiring movement and athleticism.
